The government has come out with a scheme of enabling higher secondary
students to register themselves online with employment exchanges at
their respective schools.
This will be launched on Wednesday when the students, who have passed
the higher secondary examinations, will go to their schools for
collecting mark sheets.
In the next 15 days, the students can carry out the online registration and get identity cards.
Their seniority will be fixed as on May 25. On the day of registration, they will be given the details of registration.
The School Education and Labour and Employment Departments along with
the Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu is executing the scheme.
Tamil Nadu is the first State to implement such a scheme, Ms. Jayalalithaa told a press conference at the Secretariat.
Later, an official release issued by the Chief Minister stated that
while going to their schools to receive the mark sheets, the students
had been advised to bring photocopies of family cards that had their
names along with the family cards in original.
Those who had registered themselves with the employment exchanges after passing 10th standard should produce the cards.
After the completion of registration process, those with disabilities
should also register their seniority details with district employment
offices.
Ms. Jayalalithaa added that the scheme was designed to save time and
transport expenses of students who, on passing the 12th standard,
registered themselves with employment exchanges for getting immediate
seniority.
